History of Eco-friendly Salon

Clarity hair and life strandhill sligo inside our upcycled 18th century cottage, the home of Clarity Hair & Life. We pride ourselves on offering only the best, clean, organic products which will help minimise our carbon footprint and reduce our plastic and waste consumption. We began our journey as a hair and millinery studio and always offered a cleaner approach to hairdressing. Here at Clarity Hair & Life we treat the planet with the same level of care, consideration and love as we do your hair. How is this possible? We have partnered with Oway, an organic and biodynamic hair and lifestyle brand. Oway products contain at least 90-95% naturally-derived ingredients; and some are even made from 100% natural formulas. All products come in plastic free amber glass bottles and most retail products are refillable.(save yourself 20% on each refill) We are also proud members of the Green Salon Collective who recycle the unrecyclable due to their innovative and forward thinking practices. They divert 100,000s of waste items that otherwise would end up in landfill or our waterways. Everything from excess colour, foils, metal colour tubes, plastic, PPE and even your hair. With all of this we aim to create a Healthy you, Healthy me, Healthy planet

The history of Clarity Hair & Life in Strandhill, Sligo is one that is steeped in a commitment to sustainability and a dedication to the environment. Housed within an upcycled 18th century cottage, Clarity Hair & Life has always taken a cleaner approach to hairdressing, offering a range of organic and biodynamic products that are designed to minimise their carbon footprint and reduce waste consumption.

From the very beginning, Clarity Hair & Life has prided itself on treating the planet with the same level of care and consideration as their clients' hair. This commitment has been made possible thanks to their partnership with Oway, an organic and biodynamic hair and lifestyle brand that uses at least 90-95% naturally-derived ingredients in their products. In addition, Oway's plastic-free amber glass bottles are refillable, allowing customers to save 20% on each refill.

Clarity Hair & Life is also proud to be a member of the Green Salon Collective, an organisation that is dedicated to recycling the unrecyclable through innovative and forward-thinking practices. From excess colour and foils to metal colour tubes, plastic, PPE, and even hair, the Green Salon Collective diverts hundreds of thousands of waste items that would otherwise end up in landfill or our waterways.

Through their commitment to sustainability and their dedication to using only the best organic and biodynamic products, Clarity Hair & Life aims to create a healthy you, a healthy me, and a healthy planet.

We specialise in all aspects of hairdressing and have created our very own Clarity Curly Cut method.

Our Partnership With Oway

Oway believe that using pure, natural ingredients in their products is key to a healthier body and a better quality of life. That’s why they grow the ingredients for their essential oils at Ortofficina, their biodynamic farm covering over 50,000 sq m in the hills of Bologna. The biodynamic method is the purest and cleanest type of cultivation, free of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and synthetic fertilisers used in conventional agriculture, it allows obtaining the most concentrated and effective active ingredients, in respect of the ecosystem.

For any ingredients that they are unable to grow at their biodynamic farm, they collaborate with international fair trade purchasing networks.

Our Partnership With
The Green Salon Collective

Founded by environmental experts, hairdressers and eco campaigners, they are the original authority on salon sustainability throughout the UK and Ireland.

"We transform every single piece of "rubbish" into something useful" - Green Salon Collective. They recycle, compost and recover our: hair, used foils, empty colour tubes, chemicals, PPE, plastic, paper and even salon towels.

100% of any money raised from recycling our raw materials or new products made from our waste goes to charity. By recycling their profits, every month they can support many charities and organisations.

These currently include the following: FoodCycle - Haircuts 4 The Homeless - Mossy Earth.
